Coach Lockey In Da Bag

In this video, Mark Crossfield takes a look into Coach Lockey’s golf bag, like what they do on the Tour. Coach Lockey is Callaway through and through. Let’s take a look “in da bag:”

Callaway Apex irons 4 iron-PW

  • Project X shafts
  • 5.5 shaft flex
  • Compound Golf Pride grip

Callaway Great Big Bertha 3-wood

  • 16 degrees of loft
  • ProLaunch Blue shaft

Coach Lockey shared that he had struggled to launch the ball off the deck (from the grass), so increased loft with an adjustable setting was made, increasing it to 16 degrees of loft.

Callaway Great Big Bertha driver

  • 10.5 degrees loft set in the standard setting
  • ProLaunch Blue
  • 55-gram stiff shaft

Callaway Apex UT (utility iron)

  • 21-degree, he calls it “lumpy” because it’s lumpier than his irons
  • Project X 5.5 flex shaft (same as irons)

Odyssey Milled 2 Collection

  • Heavy weights and 33-inches long

Coach Lockey loves the square look with sharp edges framing the putter.

The wedge game is Coach Lockey’s strongest part of his game. Possessing only two wedges (as he says, “I only need two wedges”), Coach Lockey has it honed in! Let’s take a peak.

  • Callaway Mack Daddy 60-degree wedge
  • 10 degrees of bounce
  • PM grind (something Coach Lockey calls “his own grind”)
  • Callaway MD3 52-degree wedge
  • 10 degrees of bounce
  • S Grind
